Mutual & Federal, a member of the Old Mutual Group, has been voted as one of South Africa’s most trusted brands in the inaugural Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands survey. The short-term insurer is dual winner of the short-term insurance category of the survey, putting it ahead of six competitors. “I wish to acknowledge all our employees and our brokers for contributing to this achievement”, says Vuyo Lee, Executive: Brand Customer and Transformation at Mutual & Federal. “The short-term insurance category was said to be highly competitive and we are pleased of our performance”, she continues. The Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands survey is aimed at discovering brands that South Africans trust. It engages a group of participants to rate brands on a trust scale of 1 – 10.
Although the Trusted Brands survey is new to South Africa, it is conducted every year in dozens of countries, across different continents. It is said to be a signature event generating a huge amount of public interest.
In April 2013, Mutual & Federal ranked above the industry average on the South African Customer Satisfaction Index that measures customers’ satisfaction with brands. It also ranked second, out of 10 short-term insurance companies, on the last customer service ranking of the Orange Ask Afrika index.
Mutual & Federal prides itself on being the oldest short-term insurance company in the country that has been protecting what’s important to its customers since 1831. The Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands survey results were published on 30 August 2013.
