What are the emergency procedures in the event of:
- A Burst geyser or pipe claim
- Switch off geyser switches MARKED "Geyser and Geyser Isolator" on main electrical distribution board.
- Turn of the water at the inlet valve to minimise further water damage to ceilings, walls, carpeting and furniture.
For your convenience we have provided you with an image of a geyser to help you identify where a leak could occur.
- A Storm, Hail or Flood claim
- Dry up as much water as possible to minimise further damage.
- Carpeting can be saved if drying takes place promptly.
- Remove furniture and household contents from wet areas.
- A Fire claim
- Contact the emergency services immediately.
- Make sure the occupants of the house are safe and evacuate home immediately if the fire is out of control.
- Notify us as soon as possible of the claim as we have a system in place to deal rapidly with these types of substantial losses.
- A Burglary claim
If you enter your property and notice anything out of place:
- Leave the property as the intruders may still be inside.
- Call the police from the neighbour's home
- A Glass claim
- A plastic bag can be taped over the broken pane until it is replaced.
How do I lodge a claim for one of these emergencies?
This can be done online, telephonically, or by fax. If you would like to lodge your claim telephonically, please contact your local branch.
